Magic Fountain: Built in 1929, this fountain is a major attraction. When the fountain is active it changes shape and color constantly. It is located on Montjuic, the hill that rests just southwest to the heart of Barcelona. The Magic Fountain was a part of the Universal Exhibition project that took place in 1929. It was designed by Carles Buigas i Sans. The project includes a series of fountains and cascades that stretch between the Placa d’Espanya and the Palau Nacional. The fountains got damage because of disuse. They were restored in 1992. The marvelous display of light along with music makes the spectator spellbound.

Arc de Triomf: The Catalan architect Josep Vilaseca designed the famous Arc de Triomf, the beautiful arc exhibiting colorful brickwork. The arc is ornamented with many reliefs and statues. The arc was built in 1888 for the Universal Exposition as the main entrance of the exposition. The brickwork in mudejar style makes the arc stand out. The stone carvings make the arc even more interesting. The front side gives a feel as if Barcelona is welcoming its visitors. Another side of the arc exhibits a prize-giving ritual.

Port Vell: One of the major tourist attractions of Barelona, Port Vells is an entertainment center and a yatch-basin. This old obsolete harbor was turned into an entertainment center in an urban renewal project. This area gives the city of Barcelona easy access to sea. A pedestrian street was build from Barceloneta neighborhood to Columbus monument and the coastal road was moved underground. The wooden bridge connects the Rambla to the Maremagnum that houses many theaters, restaurants, bars, cinemas and shops.
